Ohhhh Desserts and all things yummy....

Comfort Bread

I love putting designs on the sourdough bread when it bakes it has a variance of color between the golden caramelized crust and the lighter indents.

I knew it was a Holiday when I saw my dad in the kitchen making his rolls. The smell of these baking let us know we were almost ready to sit down, we always had them hot and fresh. It was my favorite thing about the meal. I do many variations with this dough base but this is how they look the way my dad made them. They are a rich dinner roll.

This is a spicy Jalepeno Cheddar Bread. It is super yummy as a Roast Beef sandwich.

One of our favorite breakfast breads are these cream cheese twists. They are made from a rich dough and rolled with a cream cheese mixture and then braided.

Carls project

Carl had to create a Native American project and we love to create out of cake so we came up with this. Making the fire out of rolled out gumdrops was little Carl's idea and then Ha-Na who wanted to help started rolling out her own and made the flaps out of it. She also came up with the idea of making trees from the pretzel sticks and gumdrops on top. I love it when the creative juices flow from my kids.

Fun with Puff Pastry

I had a request for cream horns. Since I had the puff pastry out I played arround and made some parmesan cheese twists and cinnamon spirals.

Various Cakes

I do every flavor of cheesecake. The cake in this picture is my white chocolate raspberry cheesecake with chocolate crust, covered in chocolate rasberry ganache.

This cake is a four layer chocolate cake with orange chiffon filling, ganache icing and candied orange rind to top it off.

Double chocolate malt cake with chocolate cream filling and icing topped with malt balls.

Caramel cake with browned butter frosting crowned with various candy bar treats.

Kids having fun

I love making the witch hat cake for parties. This one was made for my kids to decorate for school for a school contest. They had a great time putting it together. They won for their grade level.

My son had a project for school where he had to do a model with two land forms. We did a mountain with a river flowing into a lake in a valley. I guided him but he did the decorating, he was really proud of it.

Fun birthday cakes

This birthday cake was for a girl turning six who loves princesses. She really wanted a cake that celebrated so I put flags and stars all over it.
A boy turning nine wanted a batman cake with the batman signal. The signal and windows are made from sugar. It is topsy turvy to give the effect of the building being destroyed and falling down. I put dry ice at the top of the cake to simulate smoke coming from the burning building.
